2 Stars Pretty Disappointing
When I first saw the Avatar movie, I couldn’t help but think that it would be awesome to have an action figure of the mech from the movie. After I watched the movie for the second time, I had to go and get one. Boy was that a mistake. This thing was a disappointment and I wish I hadn’t bought it. I mainly wanted it for display purposes, but it doesn’t look very nice. It doesn’t look the least bit metallic. In fact, it looks like a big hunk of cheap plastic.

Another gripe that I had was that the weapons don’t fit in the hands properly. The gun was very loose, and the knife just completely falls out. I don’t see the point in having a removable knife if it can’t even fit in the hand. The AMP suit also does not stand up very well. You have to position it perfectly or else it will fall over, and when it falls over, rest assured that at least one of the legs will fall off.

Since I should try to say at least one positive thing, it was fairly easy to assemble. Even if you feel like you have to have one of these, I would recommend that you wait since another version of this is supposed to be released in the future. Hopefully, it will be a major improvement over this one.

5 Stars Very Good Replica!
I was overall very impressed with this product. Although the leg broke, it is great for reanacting battle scenes. It arrives unassembled but I did not need the instructions to assemble it so it is very easy to assemble. I am planning to pick up the Thanator so I reanact the battle scene at the end of the movie!

I had barely enough money to purchase the Amp Suit so I could not purchase the figure. I had to use my old Elizabeth Swan figure. I hope this reveiw helps!

5 Stars Talk about fun! Let your kids play the genocidal robot!!
Parents, have we got a great toy for your kids!

This one is a real winner! If you’ve seen Avatar, then you know how the intelligent, gentle, kind creatures are slaughtered wholesale by the massive Corporation’s troops. Now you can help your kids prepare for the future by actually pretending they ARE the guys inside the robots that slaughter all these gentle creatures!

Now if you think that isn’t the sort of fun your kids should be having, you might want to ask yourself: what sort of world am I preparing my child for? If s/he isn’t ready to follow The Company’s orders and kill who s/he is told to, while inside the giant transformerish robot suit all good modern children dream of wearing, then what sort of future are we really facing?

But hey, if your kid saw this movie and his biggest resultant desire is wanting to be the guys who commit genocide on an entire planet, perhaps your biggest concern isn’t how poorly made this shoddy piece of plastic is.

But then, again…maybe it is!!

For the right parent, with the right kid, this toy is perfect!

But for those adults and children who HAVE actually seen this movie, please join me in wondering: who the heck came up with the idea for this toy? The same guy who was fired from his last firm for his strangely failed laughing, smiling Stalin doll?

To the boys at Mattelistan: take a look in the mirror, and then another look at Avatar, and then have a nice evening’s sleep cuddling your idea of a kid’s toy. Sweet dreams to all of you. And best of luck to your kids; they’re going to need it.

And we wonder why our world is the way it is…

4 Stars Good product overall with some glitches.
I bought this for my son after seeing the movie. I was afraid of the quality because the packaging did not have windows and I would have to put it together. Not to worry. The assembly was not hard and it looks just like the picture on the box. The only con is the legs keep coming off. My son got to where he was playing without the legs on because of that. I solved that by putting a thin, long piece of grey duct tape around the top of the legs (wrap it around the whole body and both legs at least 2 times). It still has movement when you do this. He was very happy I came up with this idea instead of super glue. The gun is loose in his hand and the knife falls out of the other, but doesn’t seem to bother my son. This is why I only gave it 4 stars.

Christmas Story 20″ Lamp - Desk Leg

Christmas Story 20″ Lamp - Desk Leg

Sure to become an instant conversation piece AND “the gift” of the year, our Christmas Story 20-Inch Leg Lamp is an actual working 1/2-scale replica inspired by the hit movie A Christmas Story! Every detail is the same–right down to the fishnet-clad leg and 10″ fringed lampshade! This lamp features a 4-way switch: top bulb on, leg bulb on, both bulbs on, or off. The top portion of the lamp uses a standard light bulb (45W maximum), not included. Lamp is 20″ tall.

5 Stars Fantastic and well made!
This is a great replica of the Christmas Story Leg lamp! It is very well made (not cheap looking) especially for the price! It was a christmas gift for my husband and he loves it!

5 Stars Love it.
I didn’t buy this because I wanted it to look like the one from the movie. In fact, I’ve only briefly seen the movie but not in its entirety so I didn’t really care about that. This lamp looks exactly like the picture.

Pros:

The fish net panty hose is real and you can move it around. It’s attached to the top of the thigh and to the shoe so you can’t remove it without intentionally ripping it off.

You can turn on the main lamp by itself or the leg by itself or both of them at the same time.

It required very little assembly. I only had to remove the plastic from the lamp shade, put in a bulb, attach the shade and plug it in. That’s it! The bulb in the leg was already in there.

Cons:

I just wish the leg went up higher into the shade so you couldn’t see the top of the leg but that’s OK.

The on/off knob is really hard to turn. Maybe it’s just stiff cause it’s new and maybe it will loosen up over time. We’ll see.

It doesn’t seem like a cheaply made product. Seems high quality. I put a 75 watt bulb in it and I’ve left it on for almost 14 hours just to make sure that it doesn’t catch on fire or something.

I’m very happy with my purchase!

5 Stars Friend Loved the Leg lamp
I bought this for a friend for christmas. She had been asking for one and loved it! She said she might keep it up all year. It had 2 lamp settings which I did not even know. She loved this so if you know someone who loves Christmas Story and would like this buy it!

4 Stars Satisified
Even though it not exactly like the one in the movie, it sure it close enough to be an enjoyable novelty. It’s built very well, good quality item. It has a three way switch, so you can turn on only the bulb, or just the leg, or both. The only thing I don’t like is that the entire leg doesn’t light up, instead just the middle of the calf lights ups. It makes it look like a lower and upper bulb are burnt out.

5 Stars my poor poor brother
I bought this for my brother for Christmas. The Christmas movie is a little inside family joke as he would cry at the Santa pushing the kid down the slide part and he never would sit in Santa’s lap after that movie. When I found out could buy the lamp, I could not resist. It is a little small, but you get the idea. It was worth the money to watch my thirty year old brother open his lamp.

LEGO Ben 10 Alien Force Humongousaur 8517

LEGO Ben 10 Alien Force Humongousaur 8517

LEGO Ben 10 Alien Force Humongousaur 8517

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Not really a Lego set
My son is a big Ben 10 fan, and I happened to see this one at a local toy store just before Xmas and got one. My son loves it, but just be clear that this is not really a Lego building set in the classic sense - it only has 20 body part pieces that snap together, my son (5 years old) put it together in about 20 seconds. It does not look like it will connect well with traditional Lego bricks, it is really more of a poseable action figure. The exception may be that you can probably interchange body parts with other sets in the Ben 10 line, although we have not tested this. SO, if you are a big Ben 10 fan you will probably like this, but don’t purchase thinking you are going to get a ‘real’ Lego building set.

3 Stars great for carrying all the Bakugan your kid may have!!
My son has a TON of Bakugans and these help contain them and also for him to take to friend’s houses. Good price here ($[...])…1/2 of what Walmart or Target wanted.
