Transformers Movie 2 Voyager The Fallen

Transformers Movie 2 Voyager The Fallen

For millennia, he has waited. Thousands of years have dragged by as he recruited proxies, one by one, to scour the cosmos for the artifact he required. Now he finds he must return to the primitive, flesh-slug infected planet on which his quest began. Nothing will stand in his way this time. If need be, he will scour the surface of this disgusting world clean in the fire of his rage, and search through the blasted rubble for that which he seeks.

5 Stars Really Cool!
This is one version, of two, of The Fallen in toy form (the other form being approximately a 4 inch tall figure), and this figure is really neat! The Voyager series is quite possibly the best version of the Transformer figures we get with this particular movie. The figures run at about $23 depending on where you buy them.

I also bought the Optimus and Megatron figures of the Voyager editions and, this also goes with The Fallen, the figures all feel cheap. The plastic is extremely lightweight and it’s tough to keep the figures from staying in their vehicle modes (Optimus) without the aid of a rubber band. As much as I love these figures I will say right now that the Transformers toys from the 80s were of better quality than these. These feel like toddler toys that will break apart at any second when you handle them.

That’s the only downside to all of these figures. Otherwise, these figures are still worth the $23 as they are very well detailed and are a nicer alternative to purchasing some of the more expensive models of the toys. Although, with The Fallen, this is the top of the line. This figure is articulated in many areas and the feet are closed together by springs so it would be easier to transform it into The Fallen’s vehicle form. To get the feet flat you simply have to set the figure up on a flat surface. But the spring-loaded feet make the figure look even cooler if you set it up on the edges of boxes where one or two toes are flat while the other toes are grappling the edges of the boxes.

The “solar panels” on either side of The Fallen’s head can be folded to the back of his head to give a more authentic look to the figure. The transformation of the figure isn’t all that easy so you’ll want to keep the instructions that come with it.

Overall, the figure is exceptional and highly recommended for any collector or fan of the Transformers toys! The appendages look great as well as the paint job!

4 Stars The Fallen!
I really needed to get The Fallen for my TF collection. One of things that disappointed me even before I bought this figure was the fact that the ROTF toyline doesn’t have any Ultra Class figures. Ideally, the Fallen should be bigger than the a regular Voyager class… so either Ultra or Leader.

Kinda put off by the fact that this hands can’t hold anything (gun/spear), and not really impressed by the ’solar panels’ around his head and arms. Beyond that, the concept with his feet are really cool and he poses pretty well.

The transformation to the jet was one of more difficult ones I’ve done, but not impossible. I think the jet mode is really lame though… as some others mentioned, they made the robot and figured they had to come up with an alternate mode and just force-fitted the alien destroyer mode. It’s not bad, but not great either.

That said, I think this is a pretty cool toy. Very sinister looking and movie accurate, but even otherwise… you can imagine him to the be arch-villain behind Megatron.

4 Stars A great toy to some…
Overall, this is a great toy, but it does have some downsides. Here is a list of pros and cons:

Pros: Great articulation and detail. It also has many moving “Mech-Alive” features that do not negatively effect the toys value.

Cons: These wouldn’t matter to the average buyer, but the toys paint scheme is a tad inaccurate to the movie. He is an odd shade of dark green, and not matte black, and he lacks the reflective turquoise on his headdress spikes. He also lacks the spear he has in the movie, but a you could find one around your house.

Pro/Con: He transforms, which he lacks the ability to do in the movie and comics, which is a bonus for some, and a burden for others.

The cons might make the pros look fewer and far between, but if paint accuracy isn’t that big of a matter, this toy is perfect. If paint does matter, don’t get me wrong, this is a great MOLD for you. Hasbro has designed a more accurate, flame deco version, which will be released around November, just in time for the Holiday Season.
