Mindful of the trend toward passive electronic toys, the founders of Sprig Toys wanted to come up with something that wouldn’t be harmful for the environment or the folks making the toys, and would get kids moving. I love the eco friendly concept and thought that has gone into this brand.
The toys are paint free and made of Sprigwood, a recycled non-toxic wood composite that smells like cedar. They are battery free and powered by the child–so smart! And they look cool.
This Discover Rig is quite big and impressive and immediately inspires the feeling of adventure. Moving the rig forward triggers an inner generator which lights up the headlamp on Cap Faraday, the little adventure guide riding inside who also narrates an adventure story for as long as the rig is being pushed (with or without the included push-bar). It’s true the volume is not very loud, but for me this is a big plus. My four year old loves it. Fun and imaginative! Recommended!

Amazon is the best. The first toy received was missing a part and Amazon arranged for an immediate replacement at no charge. My little grandson is very very happy with this toy. He loves putting things in the basket and pushing it all around the house. A good choice!

I got this for my 2 year old son and he loves pushing it all around the house and outside. The car is nicely made and it really smells great because of the recycled materials it is made of.

Great product!! My son loves it. The only thing is when he just wants to play with the car and wants us to detach the push bar, we can’t take it out. Highly recommend this product.
5 Stars Sprig Discovery Rig
I bought the Sprig Discover Rig last summer for around $50. I thought the price was a little steep but liked the eco-design of the toy. When my son was about 15 months old I started to let him play with it. He had only been walking for a few months but could easily push the Rig aroung with the handle attached. I believe the age restriction on the Rig is 3 yrs old so I removed the figure and grill to be on the safe side.
My son is now almost 2 yrs old and still plays with the Rig every day. I gave him the figures to put inside, which he switches around so that he can hear the different tales/songs when pushed. The nice thing is that he’ll probably play with the Rig for another 5 yrs or so.
The quality & construction of the Rig is pretty tough and offers multiple playing options. The handle allows for smaller children to push it while walking or even learning to walk. The handle is removeable so it becomes a free standing vehicle too. The figures that come with the Rig offer different music & stories when inserted into the drivers seat and pushed around. Only one came with the Discover Rig so we bought two additional figures at Toys R Us for $5 apiece. I noticed the music and/or stories can be switched off by a small switch on the underside.
All in all I’d give this toy an A+. My son loves it and $50 now seems like a bargain.
