5 Stars RC lovin’
This was purchased for my son, who is 5, for Christmas. He hasn’t quite mastered remote control cars yet but he did have fun calling to RC and having him respond and attempt to follow him. All of the adults that saw this car loved it and wanted a chance to “check it out”. It has some really neat features like: responds to your voice with movements and sound (horn honking), follow the sound of your voice, and explore (he just drives himself around). The only complaint I have is that the sensors are reallllly sensitive and sometimes if there is a lot of noise or a lot of furniture in the room he has trouble knowing what direction to go or he gets stuck trying to avoid things in his path. Overall I think it’s a great toy and lots of fun for all ages.
4 Stars Great fun for the right age group.
I would not pay what the stores want for this toy, but I got it at just the right price point on Amazon ($50). As a birthday present for my four year old, my six year old is actually getting more use out of it. He doesn’t get as frustrated trying to run it as a conventional R/C vehicle. As others have bemoaned, it’s quite a challenge to maneuver by remote; however, this toy shines when allowed to run on its own. It’s more of an interactive “personality” than a R/C vehicle, as it will spin, honk, move its eyes, raise up and down, etc. It responds fairly well to your calls and will explore much like a Zhu Zhu Pet.
It is heavy, durable and well-made. The car runs on six AA batteries, four of which are supplied for the demo mode. The remote requires AAA batteries.
I don’t regret getting this in the least, as I’m sure my four year old will grow to enjoy it; however, it might be better suited for older children who can appreciate what it is rather than be disappointed for what it is not.
5 Stars DON’T LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS
We received this as a gift for our 5 year old daughter for Christmas. RC details are amazing! Like you took it off the Toy Story movie screen. Personality is dead on! Remote took some time getting used to however, was not that challenging. RC moves accordingly and for the review who wrote it does not move very fast…I don’t think it was intended to race and it moves fast enough for any child who loves RC. Build quality is great!
Bottom Line:
If you love Toy Story and you Love RC then you will LOVE this toy!
5 Stars Great Toy
My 4 year old son received this toy from “Santa” for Christmas this year and absolutely loves it. It seems to drive just fine and looks exactly like the RC from the movie. I like that it has no trouble driving all over my carpeted home.
3 Stars It’s just okay
It seemed really neat with lots of potential. Our daughter was excited when she got it. It is a nice looking car and very nice detail, also a little larger than expected. It does not stair very well the way it is set up and does not go very fast. The concept is great but I would not buy this again unless it was $19.99, it is disappointing for a $70 remote control car. Our daughter likes it but does not play with it much since it can be boring with its slow response time.
