4 Stars Cute but is more Fun with the Interactive Eve
First off I purchased my Wall.e for $33. I’m a huge fan of the movie and I get obsessed with things I like.(Even my ferret is named Wall.e) Anyway so I bought the Wall.e for my computer desk. After a few minutes of fiddling with the Wall.e I really was a little disappointed. I hoped it had more different phrases then the i-Dance Wall.e(which I also own). I really considered returning it but gave in and bought Eve to see if the pair changed my opinion. I’m glad I made the right choice, the two are adorable. Whenever I need a break from a forum discussion I put them on. Seeing the two of them interact is pretty cute and changes my mood I’m in. Who says 23 years olds can’t buy toys?! I strongly suggest to purchase both Eve and Wall.e, you won’t regret it.
2 Stars NOT a robot and NOT really built for kids and real play
My son loves Wall-E and really wanted this toy, but be warned — it is an “action figure” not a robot, meaning that your child will have to move it around and make it do stuff. All it does on its own is wave its arms and make a few noises. Still, my son enjoys playing with it.
My main problems with it is that it is not constructed for real world play. Within a week of getting it, Wall-E’s “head” had snapped off its stalk. The wires were servered, so his eyes no longer light up. I was able to duct tape the head back on, but now Wall-E does even less than before. I think the manufacturer could have easily reinforced the neck assembly with some metal brackets to make it sturdier. Anyone who has kids could have told them that this was a weak point.
Given that these toys are expensive but not durable, if your child likes Wall-E you might be better off buying the cheapest version of the Wall-E action figures and skipping all the bells and whistles. Your kid’s imagination can supply all the rest.
3 Stars Fun, but needs Eva
Wall-e is a clever interactive robot, but really needs Eva to do most of the interactions. It doesn’t come with directions to let you know what he can do, so it’s tough for the child to figure out what he can do on his own. The neck is pretty fragile so you need to instruct little boys to be careful. Yeah, right. However, he does look at you when you call his name. He needs to be pushed along to move, and apparently dances and shirks to loud noises. We haven’t figured out how to get him to do that yet. Perhaps if we had Eva he’d be more fun, but that means investing another $55 in a toy. It’s become an expensive imagination builder, that’s for sure.
2 Stars Wall-E
I’m not sure that this toy is all its cracked up to be. I didn’t notice a lot of interaction. However, my grandson only got it yesterday for his birthday so I haven’t had much time to evaluate it
5 Stars Nice Wall-e
I bought this toy for my Wife. It is a lot of fun watching him interact with Eve. If you are a Wall-e fan I really do recomend this toy.
